Rio is the father of Rita, Rick's girlfriend. He also owns and operates a restaurant near Gamma Base, named, appropriately enough, Rio's. Rio's ultimate goal in life is to expand Rio's into a chain of restaurants extending across the country. He is constantly trying to lure new customers and his antics serve as comic relief.
